Get creative together! Drop by the Judah Alden Studio from 1–3pm for hands-on art-making inspired by what’s on view in the galleries. All ages welcome — no experience needed.
Boldly squared, subtly glazed, and ready for its close-up.
Today’s Collection Spotlight features this ceramic vase created by Phil Rogers, a Welsh potter, on view in the Founders Room. It was gifted to the museum by Pucker Gallery in memory of Jessie X Cousins.
Rogers was a defining figure in modern studio pottery, carrying forward the famed cross-cultural exchange between Bernard Leach and Hamada Shoji. His pottery is featured in over 50 museums globally—spanning from the Victoria and Albert Museum in London to the Museum of Contemporary Ceramics in Mashiko, Japan.
Stay tuned for more treasures from the collection.

Learning how to sew from her mother, she started first by making clothing.
