We rely on our wonderful volunteers to welcome visitors and provide them with info about exhibits and events. With a fall calendar full of programming, we're looking for more individuals. Most volunteers are here one day per month, during the hours of 1:00-4:00pm.

Attention history buffs! The former home of Major Judah Alden is on the grounds of the Art Complex Museum. Judah was an officer in George Washington's army, and was the great-great-grandson of John and Priscilla Alden, who travelled here on the Mayflower.
The home now houses our Alden Studio and Gallery, where we have these upcoming FREE events:

Sunday concerts have long been a cherished event here at the Art Complex Museum. Join us for our first post-COVID concert on Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 4:00-5:00 pm, and listen to classical pianist Mark Valenti, who comes to us from Chicago.
The concert will be held in our Phoenix Gallery, and visitors are encouraged to arrive early and view our current exhibits.
Admission is free and all are welcome.

Join the curators of two of our current shows for a gallery talk at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 28th:
ACM Collections Curator, Julia Courtney, will discuss "ACM@50+1", which highlights treasures from the museum’s permanent collection. Guest curator, Todd Bartel, will discuss "Complex Muses," an exhibit in which 12 collage artists created new works inspired by pieces in ACM@50+1.
This event is free and all are welcome.

Our artist in residence, Marcia Ballou, has been busy this past week! Her mural is taking shape, adding a burst of color and joy to the museum grounds.
Starting this Friday, visitors are invited to talk with Marcia and join in the creative fun! Visitors can paint and create small pieces that Marcia will add to the mural. Participants will also receive a free "Collage Pack" to take home.
Participants are welcome on these Fridays:
July 15 (2:00-4:00pm), July 22 (1:00-4:00pm), and July 29 (1:00-4:00pm)

Artist Ture Bengtz served as the Art Complex Museum's first director until his death in November 1973, and our Bengtz Gallery is named in his honor.
This color litho print was made the same year as the print, "Duxbury Bridge," which is featured in the "ACM@50+1" exhibit, currently open through September 4, 2022.
