Herring Run Day
The Herring are running! Learn more at the Art Complex Museum.
The herring fish has long been an integral part of the local ecosystem. In the Spring, herring return from the sea to spawn in the river in which they were born. Join us for an afternoon of Herring Run fun on Saturday, April 29th, from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
1:30 p.m.: Brian Taylor, Environmental Educator of the North and South Rivers Watershed Association (NSRWA), will talk about the herring’s place in the local ecosystem.
2:00-3:00 p.m.: Art activities for children. A “Herring Migration Obstacle Course” that simulates the challenges the fish face will also be available for adventurous visitors!
All are welcome to this free event, which is a part of the Duxbury Community Collaborative’s “Out to See Duxbury” Day. Attendees can enter a free raffle to win a prize basket. See seeduxbury.org for more information.
