An Evening with Cat Mazza and Remy Hunter
Kick off the evening with an oyster reception (5–6:30 PM), then stay for an artist talk with Cat Mazza and Remy Hunter(6:30–7:30 PM).
As the country marks its 250th anniversary, Under Construction gathers works by artists from across the nation — installed across ACM’s stunning thirteen-acre grounds — to reflect on where America has been, where it stands today, and where it’s headed.
Cat Mazza is a visual artist known for merging craft and digital media to explore the connections between textiles, technology, and labor. Her work has been supported by Creative Capital, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Now+There Accelerator, and MacDowell Colony, and her animation Knit for Defense is part of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
This event is free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged to help us plan.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Duxbury Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council.
Paint and Sip
See a Childe Hassam painting in the museum and paint your own all while tasting 3 different wines.
Raise a glass and pick up a brush at this relaxed, 2-hour painting workshop inspired by the work of American Impressionist Childe Hassam. Guided step-by-step through a seascape in Hassam’s signature style, participants of all skill levels will leave with their own finished canvas — and the chance to see the original work up close in the museum’s galleries. The evening also includes a guided wine tasting of three wines, led by the team from Snug Harbor Wines. All materials provided and all levels welcome.
