BIG INK Weekend
The Art Complex Museum is pleased to partner with BIG INK to host a weekend of monumental woodblock printing on Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13. As part of the museum’s 50+1 anniversary, BIG INK's “Big Tuna”—a one-of-a-kind, oversized, traveling printing press—will be at the museum for a two-day event. In conjunction with the Duxbury Newcomers Club's "Holly Days" event, the Art Complex will host a performance of "A Christmas Carol" by The Puppet People, a professional touring company. Two showings will be performed: 1:30 and 2:45 pm The events is FREE. Additional details will be posted soon.

Crafts @ the Complex: Holiday Artisan Fair
December 3 and 4, 2022 Saturday and Sunday 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. Judah Alden House at the Art Complex Museum This first-ever event is presented by the museum staff and some of the museum’s volunteers, who work at the front desk and welcome visitors to the museum. To accommodate the installation of new exhibitions, the Bengtz Gallery and Rotations Gallery are closed from Monday, December 5th through Saturday, December 17th. They will reopen on Sunday, December 18th with the Duxbury Art Association Annual Winter Juried Show and Let It Snow! All are welcome to attend the reception that day, from 1:00-4:oopm. The Phoenix Gallery and the Founders Room will not close during this time.

Collection Spotlight: Ram and Ewes
The printed works of Ukrainian-American artist Jacques Hnizdovsky (1915-1985) typically feature pattern-oriented designs that depict their subjects with intricacy and clarity. This woodcut print from the museum's permanent collection is an excellent example, exhibiting the artist's jovial style and perhaps his best-known subject matter: sheep.

Louis Comfort Tiffany, an American painter and designer, was born on this day in 1848. He revolutionized the production of stained glass, which he used in his designs, many of which were inspired by nature.
His "Magnolia and Wisteria Window" is on permanent display in the museum's Phoenix Gallery.
