Instructor: Betty Greene
Needle Felting is a fairly new art medium, developed by women who wanted to stretch the envelope of working with the barbed needle used for 3-D wool sculptures often done in Montessori schools. It has since expanded globally with many oil and watercolor painters finding it a wonderful way to create images.
In this class you will learn the basics by observation and practice. One of the most common observations felt by beginners is the sense of calm that is produced by the repetitive poking of wool into the background fabric.
You will be supplied with a variety of needles, wool felt “canvases” and soft fluffy wool which will be your “paint.” I will also bring foam pads for you to work on, a necessity to keep the needle from breaking as the wool is poked through the felt.
Please bring a lunch. Coffee, tea, and water will be provided.
Betty Greene has always lived and earned as an artist. She discovered needle felting just 7 years ago and immediately found she was “made” for it.
